So, back at the beginning of my relationship with David, I was trying my best to be a GOOD wife. When he came home, I would help him take off his shoes. I would hang up his coat. I would fix him something good for dinner.
I was running around doing acts of service because that’s the kind of things I liked.
But honestly, David didn’t really appreciate the same things that I did. He was more of a “Physical Touch” and “Words of Affirmation” kind of guy.
He wanted me to stop serving him and just sit down BY him and cuddle. He wanted me to hold his hand and tell him how much I loved and appreciated him.
According to the book, “The 5 Love Languages”, everyone feels and expresses love differently. My love language is “Acts of Service”. I love it when people do things and TAKE CARE of me!
Everyone has a unique personality and dominant love language. We can’t fill up our partner’s “love tank” by just giving them the same thing that WE need.
We have to find out what makes THEM feel loved.
I love it when David unloads the dishwasher or cooks me breakfast. He doesn’t understand why…but he just knows that’s what blesses me most!
(No man ever got in trouble for doing the dishes…I’m just sayin’!)
