Don’t miss the promise because you are waiting on tomorrow.
We have been talking about how to get to your dream.
First, we have to find out where we are (examine).
Then dream big with writing goals (expand).
Then we should try our best to come up with a plan to get there (explain).
Today, we’re digging into the next step which is to execute.
Execute
Execution is doing it when it is easy and not quitting when it is hard.
Execution includes… well, it’s a four-letter word. I’m not sure I should write a four-letter word in print, but here goes – execution is W-O-R-K.
Execution is doing the do. Execution is not getting distracted. Execution is where the rubber meets the road.
The devil can plan your distraction, but he cannot plan your destruction. He will try to cause you to get distracted with every little thing that comes up in the world, but we have to stay glued to our plan of execution.
God doesn’t tell you to be strong and courageous because life is like Disney World. He said be strong and courageous because its going to take strength and courage for us to get where our life is supposed to go.
There are so many potential stops alone the way. So many places we can step out of the game and let some second string player step into the destiny that God created specifically for us while we sit on the bench and catch our breath.
The key to finishing our race is never quitting by continuing to put one foot in front of the other even if it looks like we might not win. A guaranteed way to lose is to quit.
But that’s sounds hard, and I don’t think it’s biblical. Oh really…
Diligence
If you want to look up execution in the Bible, that’s probably not the word that you should search. The Bible uses the term diligence.
For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence) –2 Peter 1:5 (AMP)
Thinking faith thoughts, speaking faith words, and execution is where faith words turn into faith actions.
Walk It Out
It’s walking that thing out that God has put inside of you.
Vince Lombardi said, “You’ll either have reasons or you will have results. Which one do you want?”
God doesn’t do what He can do until we do everything we can do. To multiply what God has invested in you, (His love, His son, creation, breath, talent, gifts, plans, purpose) you have to fully execute.
Use this as your push to succeed… your pep talk… your get out of the stands and into the game.
Use this as your reason to step out in faith and fulfill your destiny. GO EXECUTE!!!
