Do you wake up and immediately start running your “To Do” list through your head? Every day I have a similar list that I feel as if I HAVE to do…
– Workout
– Read my bible
– Drink 2 big glasses of water
– Straighten the house before I leave
– Make sure the laundry gets started
– Get everyone breakfast
– Take my vitamins
– Feed the dog
– Shower and get ready for the day…
Trying to fit just one more thing in…
Do you do like I do and just start with a few small things JUST TO BE ABLE TO CHECK THEM OFF in order to get momentum?
But as I work off my To Do list, there are things that I just can’t walk by without just “handling it quickly.” I start to feel like KING OF THE WORLD because of all that I’m accomplishing, until I look at the clock…
The small things steal your time
The bible says, ‘Take us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.’ Song of Solomon 2:15
In every area of life, we have to set priorities. And sometimes we have to make sure we put the big ones first.
Want to try doing it differently over the next seven days?
Let’s put the more important things first and start consciously focusing on not letting the little things sidetrack us from achieving our goal.
Will you agree to do this for one week? I’d love to hear how you’re going to keep this focus. Please share in the comments section below so that we can learn from each other and gain momentum together!
The little things can add up to be big things if I allow them. Prioritizing my “To Do” list is so important. Remembering to place God first, my husband and children essential but sometimes the hardest task for me…just being honest. Thanks for this gentle but necessary reminder.
Angie,
start small and God will amaze you
My days are usually facebook, email, house stuff then God if there’s time but we don’t grow & become the men/women God created us to be by keeping Him on a shelf & get to Him when it’s convenient but..
it’s interesting how God works in our lives.
After prayers over me last night after my counseling appointment I was told to start putting God first, not exactly knowing how to do this I thought well God’s word is where I’ll begin and see where He leads me.
Yes, Nicole I will agree to do this for one week and you never know this may be permanent which is a good thing
You will be so happy that you took the challenge!!!
got goose bumps from your comment and I 100% agree
What a timely blog! Those little foxes are constantly stealing my time. It becomes frustrating when you think you are making progress but then when you look around you’ve barely scraped the surface.
Yes, I will agree to do this for one week and I will begin by asking God to give me guidance on what I should focus on and the ability to stay focused.
Let’s see what the week brings!
To do list…Hummmmm. This gets me to thinking.. My list has so much trying to run a home, three children, a husband, dog and last on my list ME. Time goes fast and I see it everyday especially my 11yr old daughter is my height and going through puberty. I usually get side tracked by the small stuff and neglect God and myself. Ms. Nicole. I take on your challenge. I will put God and myself first this week. I’ll probably be a better person for it, with less stress. 🙂
I can’t wait to hear how your challenge went!
