As long as we’re in this world, we WILL have TROUBLES. Thanks for the warning!

“My friends do not be surprised at the terrible trouble which now comes to test you. Do not think that something strange is happening to you.” 1 Peter 4:12 (NCV)

Now that we know trouble is coming…how do we SURVIVE? We survive by becoming SPIRITUALLY prepared.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11 (NIV)

Be Prepared
Jesus set an EXAMPLE for us when He fasted and prayed for 40 days in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1-11)

He was PREPARING himself for the tests that would come. If Jesus took time to strengthen himself SPIRITUALLY, then we should too.

When He was physically at His WEAKEST point, He was spiritually at His STRONGEST!

His knowledge of the Word allowed Him to stand against everything the enemy threw at Him.

The Answer is in the Word
Are you HUNGRY? “It is written. “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Are you REALLY the Son of God? “It is also written: “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”
Will you EXALT something else above God? “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”

Jesus was totally prepared to answer each test with the WORD. We should be, too!

Take Heart!
When trouble comes, our knowledge of The Word is our BEST weapon.

Let’s make it our mission to become more SKILLED at wielding that BIG SWORD, which is The Word of God.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.”

“But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)
