Have you noticed on a map that even though North and South are two very different directions, they are on the exact same line?
The direction you face when you are on that line will determine your outlook and ultimately which direction you will head. Faith and Fear are the same way.
We can be looking at a situation through the eyes of Faith. We can be headed for WHAT GOD HAS for us with passion and purpose. Maybe we are making Faith confessions, but then something happens and we switch over into Fear.
Guess what? When we let FEAR have a place in our situation, that’s tremendous energy holding us back. When our faith and passion is high (and God likes that), that same energy is propelling us FORWARD, in the RIGHT direction.
Whatever you prepare for is what you will receive.
This is why the Bible says in James 1:23-24 “ For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”
This is the person who allows fear to have a place. They read the Word but they allow fear to be exalted over the Word of God.
Our goal is to be the person in James 1:25 “ But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. “
God wants us STRONG in our hearts, FOCUSED on the path of preparing for His blessing, preparing for Him to GO out before us, preparing for Him to MAKE A WAY.
Do you see anything in any of those scenarios that should cause FEAR dearly loved child of the most-high God? Yeah—I’m talking to you!
So next time you feel fear start in your heart, instead of preparing for the bad, start asking, “God, what do you want me to do? God, show me the path. God, show me the direction. God, give me the words. God, give me the ideas.”
Know that James 1:5 is true, “If any of you LACKS wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to Him.”
Fear sometimes creeps into my life and I love that you have given me the tool to face it by just asking God what he wants me to do. Your blogs open my eyes to so many things to help me have a closer relationship with God and stay on the path he has for me.
