I can’t imagine letting anything bad happening to Austin or Ashtyn. I would take a BULLET for them!
I remember one time when Austin was little and another mom was letting her older and bigger son get too rough with Austin and start throwing him around. Let’s just say ‘the claws came out’.
So I can’t fathom the thought of having to throw your baby in an alligator infested river? But that’s what Jocabed of the Bible was faced with.
What Would You Do?
Pharaoh of Egypt was drowning all Jewish baby boys, and so Jocabed made a basket and put Moses in the Nile River.
I can only imagine her tears, LETTING GO of her little baby in a river surrounded by crocodiles and piranha. She had to TRUST GOD with that which was most PRECIOUS to her.
“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” Psalms 126:5
God had a PLAN for Jocabed and her baby. He PROTECTED Moses from harm and even brought him back to live with his mother in a miraculous way.
We face pressure situations in our lives too, and He has a plan FOR YOU.
Jocabed handled the pressure that she faced with GRACE, and the Lord BLESSED her for it.
I think Jocabed’s story tells us to TRUST. I think it reminds us that God has BIGGER plans in store for us than we can even imagine.
So What Happened?
Jocabed ended up with the dream? She got to raise her baby (who was supposed to be killed) and prepare him to be a part of Pharoah’s family until his adolescent years and then pass him off to someone else to deal with all that teenage drama!
He is Always Watching
An old gospel song tells us, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he cares for me; his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me.”
LIFE can be a pressure cooker. We will encounter CHALLENGES with our children, our work, our health, etc. We need to trust God with the difficult situations and BELIEVE that He will watch over those most precious to us.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Prayer for the Moment
Dear God, when the pressures of life come, help me to walk by faith and not by sight. May I trust in your plans for me! I know that you have a victory for me every time there is a challenge and I look to you for direction and for grace in the time of pressure!
Is there a time you had grace under pressure that you know must have come from God?
This truly spoke to my heart. My oldest daughter who is 20 needs to grow up. I know that I must start having “tough love” and let her learn her own life lessons. As a mother, I don’t want to place her into the “alligator infested swamp.” I try to stop her from making mistakes, especially the ones that I made. I know that I have to trust God. Mistakes or not, he will protect her.
BTW, avoiding the teenage years sounds like true grace. I have a 11 year old on fire for God. Need I say more.
Walking by Faith is so hard at times. However, the higher my faith the more at peace I am in my steps. : )
This came at such a deep time for me. I really appreciate it. This was perfect.
So glad this blog blessed you!
