We put pressures on ourselves about everything.
I even pressure myself about the amount I read during study time. Like maybe the Bible police are gonna come inquisition me or something. Or it’s a race.
The ‘read the bible in so many days’ plans really freak me out. For me, it becomes about getting my pages in, not what I get out of the pages.
I have to remind myself of that a lot, and so I just wanted to share it with you. It’s not the number of pages or chapters we read, but what we GET out of our reading or HEAR from God in the pages we do read.
I read slow.
Underline.
Go back.
Write a note.
It’s me. It takes me takes a while to cover ground.
I’m LEARNING to be good with it.
It might not be you! And that’s ok too. The Bible reading plan might be perfect for you.
The point is this.
As long as you are spending time with God everyday – don’t let yourself feel pressure to do it a certain way.
The pressure of ‘not doing it right’ will keep us from doing it as much.
Just be with Him. He loves that 🙂
