I hate starting blog’s with a scripture, because I feel like certain people will tune out. Like, “I already read my Bible today” or something.

But go with me for a second. I think you’re going to like this.

In 2 Kings 4 Elisha is talking to his servant telling him to feed the people. In verse 43-44 the servant says, “How am I to set only this before a hundred hungry men? He said, Give to the men that they may eat. For thus says the Lord: They shall be fed and have some left. So he set it before them, and they ate and left some, as the Lord had said.”

You might be thinking, ‘nobody has ever told me to feed 100 people so I don’t get it’. Maybe no one has asked you to do that, but has anyone (including God) asked you to do something that you don’t feel like is possible whatsoever?

I feel that way all the time.
God you want me to speak every weekend? But who’s going to listen?
You want me to lead this team, but I’m not sure I even know where I’m going.
God you want me to pour out, but I’m not sure there is anything to pour.
God, world, you’re asking me to do things I don’t think I can do.

There’s the catch. We aren’t supposed to be able to do them. At least not without God’s help.

If we are walking by faith (walking by faith pleases God – Hebrews 11:6) the task at hand is IMPOSSIBLE without God. But WITH God ALL things are possible.

That’s the catch. We have to believe that He chose us. If you’re like me (and the rest of us humans) you wrestle with that one. He called YOU. He called YOU for THIS. And though it looks like you don’t have enough to get the job done – just do it. Walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) and watch as God fills in the gaps.
