Have you ever let the PAIN from your past keep you from living your best life?

I have.

In my first marriage, I got HURT! (No, literally—he herniated the C7 disc in my neck!)

I’m probably not supposed to do crazy things like— oh, I don’t know—bungee jump off a bridge!

Could I REALLY do that?

Morgan and David wanted to. And I wanted to— so BAD! I wanted to be part of the fun. I hated to let them down.

But, I wasn’t gonna do it because of— my “ASHES!” My scorched-earth past was still trying to keep me from enjoying TODAY with my family!

So, here’s what I did.

I prayed about it until I had PEACE in my heart. I talked to the bungee crew and made sure everything would be okay, medically.

Life has some punch-you-in-the-gut disappointments, doesn’t it? But, NOTHING takes our God by surprise!

Don’t allow those old hurts to keep you from living your life to the FULL!  It’s time to rise up from the ashes!

Trade in all those snotty rags you stuffed in the trashcan ‘cause you were crying at night when no one could see you.

Trade in all those tears. Take the oil of joy for mourning.

God’s got BEAUTY for you!

God’s got JOY for you!

Go ahead—JUMP off of that bridge!

Like Grandma always said, “Just because your best friend jumps off a bridge— would you?”

I sure hope so!
