I wonder, how many drinks have been consumed, tears cried, extra hours worked, and circles run, trying to figure out the answer to this question?
“Why did they reject me?”
Ask ANY attractive, successful, confident-looking person if they’ve ever felt rejected. They’ve probably got a whole laundry list that rolls right off their tongue.
We’ve all felt REJECTED, at some point in our lives. But often, it’s just in our minds… a result of an incredible lack of confidence or our own LOW self-esteem. (That was me!)
Other times, it can be VERY REAL!
- The kid that was bullied.
- The invitation that never arrived.
- The date who “lost” our phone number.
- The scholarship that fell through.
- The job we didn’t “qualify” for.
- That promotion that passed over us.
- The spouse who walked out.
- Or, the parent that abused, abandoned, disowned, or disinherited us.
WOW!!! (Some of those were me, too!) What are we supposed to do? Become OVERACHIEVERS?
Put in double overtime at work to prove we’re WORTHY of success? Be the “super mom or dad” who NEVER has a hair out of place? Carry the Bible like a badge of honor and cover our cars with Jesus fish to show the world what PERFECT Christians we are?
It’s the BIG LIE we tell ourselves, “If only I’d had a little more time… I think I could’ve MADE YOU LOVE ME!”
STOP! It’s a trick of the enemy!
Pure EVIL laughs while we run faster and faster on the treadmill of life. But really… we get NOWHERE!
Shut up, devil!
Your Heavenly Father knew YOU and loved YOU long before you were ever born!
It doesn’t matter one bit what anyone else says or thinks! God has adopted you into HIS family (rejection and all) and now you’re His dear child!
You are WORTHY and you are LOVED! Want proof?
Jesus was rejected FOR YOU and paid the price when He died on the cross! So, you have nothing left to PROVE, to anyone!
