I DO NOT like being told what to do!!! (Seriously, nobody likes correction!)
Ashtyn was leaving a temperate 80 degree Florida and flying to St. Louis… where it was ridiculously COLD, like 15 degrees!
She absolutely refused to wear a coat because she didn’t like the way it LOOKED! Girl!!! (Thirty minutes in a ditched or broken down Uber and you could get frostbite… or WORSE!)
As her mom, I HAD to correct her. But, I was willing to fight that fight.
WHY? Because I had to TRAIN her… for her own safety and good!
That’s exactly the way that God corrects US!
He wants the best for HIS kids. He loves us where we are today, but loves us entirely too much to leave us there.
He’s LEGITIMATELY invested in a “training-for-reigning” program for us. But, our participation is required.
So, if God is giving you corrections… DON’T run away!
Don’t hold your hands over your ears and scream “La- la -la!”. Don’t make excuses and try to justify your past actions.
When God speaks… LISTEN. Receive it with an open spirit and don’t grow weary or lose heart.
Fully embrace the correction of God as part of your training. Because, whom the Lord LOVES… He corrects.
It’s for your GOOD. It’s for your FUTURE. It’s for your CALL!
And you’re called to go HIGHER!
