Does anybody else hear the theme to JAWS when they think about jumping in the ocean?
I still hear it… but I jump in anyway.
WHY? Because beyond my wildest imaginations, just below the surface, an unbelievable world full of WONDER is waiting! I’ve seen things that BLOW MY MIND!
I love what I see when I scuba dive, but I have to overcome my fear to really enjoy it! (READ THAT AGAIN!)
Beneath the waves, I feel calm, anchored, and have complete PEACE of mind, but fear tries to keep me from it!
One time when we were in Jamaica, I remember getting lost in the WONDER of the crazy-cool creatures God had created.
There’s a WHOLE WORLD down there that most people don’t even know exists! And I get to see it??? (Totally worth the fear.)
I felt God speak to my heart. “Wanna see MORE, Nicole?”
Uh, YEAH! I don’t have to check my calendar. I’m here for it!
So… I answered Him.
“God, I don’t get to dive very often. If it’s ok, I would LOVE to see more before I have to leave.”
His answer.
“I LOVE making things happen for you! I love that you asked! It shows me your faith and faith pleases Me. Watch this, baby girl!”
WOW!!!
Within minutes, I saw two of the biggest lion fish I had EVER seen in my life!
Then I saw a puffer fish and learned how to make him puff! (so cool)
When I turned again, I saw my first sea spider (if that’s even what this huge thing was) ALL within just a few minutes!!!
If you’ve ever been diving, you know it doesn’t happen that way very often.
But, God loves to exceed our expectations. He wants us to marvel at His AWESOME creation, unlimited power, and generous mercies!
He just, flat, LOVES us that much!
If we trust Him, and allow Him to help us overcome our fear by operating in faith – He has WONDERS we can’t even imagine waiting around the corner!
