I had to watch it all BURN… literally!
I was SO uncomfortable. I kept wringing my hands and kinda dancing… like I had to go to the bathroom or something.
This was several years ago when I quit a great-paying job to volunteer full-time for my father-in-law’s church.
(You know, who isn’t excited about quitting a great-paying job to work for no money?)
But, I kept my long box of index cards full of sales leads.
It was like GOLD!
Each card was a different lead, and you know your girl had all the info: names, spouses, kids, contract renewal dates…
I had it all! I was ready! All these people wanted to do business with ME. (That’s what I’m talking about!)
So, as a backup plan, I stored the box at the top of my closet where it would be SAFE. Out of sight. I could ignore it.
But I still had it. You know… just in case.
In case of what? In case the “God thing” fell through? I mean, I KNOW He told me to do this, but… (Do you see where this is going?)
One day, God finally asked me about it. “Nicole, what do you need that box for?”
“Um, you see, God… well….”
I didn’t want to tell Him I was saving it. So, I came up with a much better story. I told Him I was planning to SELL it. (As if He didn’t know.)
After all, there were a LOT of good leads in that box. It could be worth a ton of money. Right?
But God had something else in mind. (Don’t ya just hate when that happens?)
He told me there was NO going back. He told me to take it out to the backyard and BURN it. That was no longer the life He was calling me to.
Sometimes, God leads us to our promised land. But when we see it, we don’t always think the odds look good.
Don’t let the enemy lie and tell you it’s too late for you.
Can you see yourself totally debt free? Are you completely healed? In a strong, happy marriage?
Believe me; there is no “Plan B” that’s better than God’s “Plan A.”
Head toward what He has for you, and stop letting one LITTLE thing hold you back!
