Having the wrong people around you is like having Monopoly Money – they’re totally useless in the real world. 

But GOOD friends… well, they can save your bacon.

OMG!!! It was so embarrassing! There I was… on the ground in a ripped up ball gown!

Okay, okay. I hadn’t actually fallen … yet. But I was teetering and just knew it was gonna happen… any second!

Here’s the thing. We were at this incredible gala to celebrate our outstanding volunteers.

I’m talking, fancy clothes… five-star dinner… classy jazz band in the lobby. It was a BIG deal!

The staff did such a great job putting on this event. But after most of the guests had left, it was time to TURN UP!

The band tossed out their smooth playlist and pulled out the funky stuff. Next thing I knew; we were all doing the Electric Slide!

Finally, time to just relax and have some FUN!

Except… I had on a LOT of dress (like a five-layer dessert) and I was kinda tripping all over myself.

I was trying to enjoy the dance… but, I kept almost tripping over my dress in these stupid heels. I’m going down!!!!

But then, one of the beautiful people I work with reassured me. “Don’t worry, Pastor. You’ve got a lot of good people around you. Even if you fall… you’ll NEVER hit the ground.”

WOW!!! 

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24 sure has it right!

Good friends will help us push forward. Good friends will keep us from making a fool of ourselves.

When we live with the RIGHT people around us… they’ll never let us fall!
