What you pay attention to… you’ll get MORE of.
Do you live your life constantly checking your rearview mirror? What do I mean?
Do you often look back and complain about what the enemy HAS and IS doing to you?
OR
Do you look for all the miracles that God is currently working on in your life?
When you check that REAR view… you never get a CLEAR view!
I’ve lived through this. Especially when my crack-addicted ex-husband was stalking me so bad that I had to actually leave the state.
I arranged for my son to be somewhere safe and fled to a crummy little one-star motel in Florida. I was working as a waitress, barely making ends meet, and constantly looking over my shoulder, in fear.
Until one day, God infused me with 20 seconds of INSANE courage!
I threw my bags in the car and headed back to St. Louis to face the music. (Have you read my book, “I Will Thrive?”) I needed a new infusion of courage every time I passed an exit where I could turn around.
Dwelling on old experiences will always hinder our new expectations! That’s why the enemy’s trying so hard to keep you wrapped up in the facts about your past… hoping they’ll trip up your future.
He flashes things in your REAR view, like:
None of your family went to college… so you probably won’t, either.
Your aunt had cancer… so you’ll probably have it, too.
No one in your bloodline has ever owned their own home… so how could you?
People in your family never stay married. (After all, you were parented by people from two different households.)
That’s just the way it’s going to be… so get used to it!
No!… No!… NO!!! You better check yourself before you wreck yourself!
The enemy wants you to keep looking backwards… telling everybody why you CAN’T. But, God is in front of you saying, “Come this way! Follow Me!”
Press forward!
Your biggest failure can be the centerpiece of your comeback story. So, don’t give up now!
Stop looking at your failures and start looking at your FUTURE!
Stop running away from your past and start running toward your God-given POTENTIAL!
Face forward… and NEVER look back!
