Ever felt like you finally got the “yes” you were waiting for—only to have it yanked away?
(That’s what happened to me.)
We signed a contract on a new house, late one Friday afternoon. It was perfect—the location, the setup, even the price.
Another buyer already had a contingent offer on it, but we had submitted ours just in time.
I knew how it worked. They had 48 hours to respond, which gave us until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
I knew the other buyer wouldn’t be able to secure financing over the weekend. The banks were closed. There was no way they could firm it up in time.
It was OURS!
Until the call came on Sunday at 3 p.m. They had gotten the financing. The deal was done and we were out!
Wait… WHAT?
Banks don’t magically open on Sundays. Something happened behind the scenes. Someone tipped them off.
I was mad. I was hurt. I was confused.
How could God let this happen? Didn’t He know how much we needed that house? It was the only one that fit us!
It didn’t make sense. I cried.
But a few weeks later, my husband went on a totally random motorcycle ride and passed a different property for sale.
We checked it out. It had triple the land, a brand-new house, and everything we didn’t even know we needed.
It truly was PERFECT!
If we had gotten what we thought we wanted when we thought we needed it… we would’ve missed something exponentially better.
Timing. Is. Everything.
But when God’s timing feels off, we panic. We assume He’s forgotten us. That He missed the deadline. That He’s helping everyone else… but not us.
But what if God isn’t late at all? What if He’s just building something BETTER?
In the Bible, Ruth was widowed, broke, and picking up scraps in a field. It looked like a setback.
But that very field? It was owned by Boaz—the man God was using to rewrite her whole story.
She went from invisible to invaluable. That field wasn’t her failure—it was her foundation!
Look at Esther. She was an orphan turned queen who didn’t even want the spotlight. But when her people were in danger, her cousin Mordecai reminded her:
“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
“Such a time as this.” (Let those words sink in.)
- Maybe this weekend isn’t random.
- Maybe this blog isn’t just a scroll-stopper.
- Maybe this conference isn’t just another event.
- Maybe… this is YOUR moment!
I don’t want you to miss your timing.
Because when God opens a door, you don’t want to be in the wrong place, distracted, discouraged, or doubting.
