WOO HOO! Dirty dishes, again!
(Said with intense sarcasm.)
I’d just finished making breakfast for the family and was standing at my kitchen sink pondering a mountain of dishes.
(So far, this doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? That’s kind of what I was feeling, too.)
And that’s when it HIT ME! Ashtyn just turned 18!
And before long, Austin, Morgan, and baby Liam will be leaving their “Bunny” and will be fixing meals at their own house.
God only knows how many more breakfasts that I’ll GET to make for my family!
What was I THINKING?
I guess I was so busy grumbling, complaining, and feeling sorry for myself. When honestly, I should’ve been saying:
- Thank You God, that David and I still LOVE being together!
- What a JOY and a privilege to have children and grandchildren!
- How fantastic, that my family is so HAPPY and healthy!
- What an honor, that our kids still WANT to hang out with us!
God, I’m sorry for taking for granted all the seemingly normal and everyday BLESSINGS that I’m surrounded with!
None of us knows exactly how many more family breakfasts or holiday dinners we’ll get to share with our loved ones.
But, I do know this – in the big scheme of things, it will never seem like ENOUGH!
Enjoy this precious holiday time with your family!
Happy Thanksgiving!
