How did I end up with the Police surrounding me, AGAIN?
(Maybe I’d better explain.)
I was in Lake Charles, Louisiana with Pastors Hope and Jerry Snider and their team. We wanted to shoot a video to promote that I would be the guest speaker at their church the next day.
Well… we saw these three police officers, in two vehicles and one motorcycle, with lights flashing. It looked pretty EXCITING and a bit intimidating!
People began walking on the opposite side of the street. (Except me. I was INSPIRED!)
“Hey… let’s use them to help promote the church service!”
“Oh, no, no, NO!” My friends starting dropping back. (Except Dee Dee, the media director that needed the video.) lol
“Sure,” I said, I bet they’ll help!”
“NO, they look BUSY. No, I’m sure they CAN’T. No, they might get MAD!”
Why do we always assume that people will say “NO” BEFORE we even ask them?
They wouldn’t want to go out with ME.
They probably can’t give ME a raise.
They wouldn’t want MY product on their shelves.
The doubtful excuses start pouring out of us like lies! We assume that the answer is “NO” and don’t even give God a chance.
What if He wants to say YES? What if He’s just been waiting for us to ASK?
The officers were shy and unsure for about 30 whole seconds. Then, they asked us to airdrop them the video when we were finished. Lol
So, quit saying “NO” for God and start living in the land of “YES”!
