I get you…
You can’t think of a single good thing to say about yourself, because you’ve heard some things about you that had JUST enough truth in them… that you’re WONDERING if it isn’t all true.
Are you really that bad? That hard? That unmoving? You’re starting to buy into the negative narrative that’s running around in your brain.
HEY!!!!! YOU!!!!
God is saying, “It’s enough!”
I don’t know what happened to you. But I do know that God redeemed you and doesn’t recall or hold ANYTHING against you. Neither do I.
IF you’ve been asking God for a sign – take note.
This sweet, young woman came up to me, after the St. Louis “Wonder” Conference. (One of my favorite things about Women’s Conference, is the chance I get to meet so many AMAZING women from all over the country.)
She said this:
“I just wanted you to know that God has freed me from all the hurt, and pain, and everything I’ve been feeling. There’s trauma from childhood and anger that I’ve had toward parents and things like that. And He just… it’s helped me, today… Thank you so much!”
It always inspires and encourages ME to hear their personal stories of how God has touched them and forever changed their lives. Just like he did mine!
Get this – God has thrown our shame as far as the east is from the west and doesn’t keep score of our faults. Some of the stuff they said about you DOES have a shred of truth.
But God’s grace is BIGGER!
And He didn’t find out about it when they told you about it. He knew about it AND the fact that you would repent and become stronger, before you were even born.
Today, we’re stronger than yesterday. And tomorrow, we’ll be stronger than today.
We’re not going to live in shame, feeling the blame, anymore. Enough is ENOUGH!
Our past is history and our future is BRIGHT!
