“I’ll have what SHE’S having!” Ha! (Remember that line from the movie?)
Do you realize that you’re constantly having what you’re HEARING?
It’s that time of year when I just get really EXCITED and act like my JOYFUL self!
So, walking home from a restaurant with the kids, I started singing at the top of my lungs. (I can’t help it!)
“It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year!”
The kids were far enough ahead of us that they didn’t really hear me. (So much for TRYING to embarrass your kids in public!)
But when we got home, Ashtyn started singing. “It’s the most wonderful time of. . .”
She stops mid-chorus and says, “WHY am I singing a Christmas song in November?”
I said, “Oh, I was singing that on the way home.”
She says, “You were?”
I said, “Yeah.”
She says, “Thanks Mom!!!” in that eye-rolling, condescending teenage way.
Has that ever happened to you? Have you ever had a melody get STUCK in your head?
Why did that happen? You obviously started HAVING what you were hearing.
Every day, we’re bombarded with so much CRAZY stuff that we don’t even realize we’re hearing.

Because what we HEAR determines what we SAY, what we say, determines what we SEE, and what we see determines where we GO in life!
