If we all stick together, we won’t hang separately.
Who we hang with is so important.
It can be the difference between winning and losing in life…
Taking the right road or the wrong one…
Feeling good most of the time, or always having a negative bent on the world…
I had a friend that I used to travel with.
The two of us took a girl’s trip every year while our husbands went and burped, grunted and did guy things.
The trips were never crazy amazing destinations, but we had a great time – no matter where we went.
Italy
We would always dream of going to Italy (while we were eating Italian food in some little out of the way place).
Then, one day, she told me that she was planning a trip to Italy! I was SOOOOO excited! I just knew it was for us.
Then she told me that she was going with someone else. Secretly, I was hurt – but I tried to act joyful for her.
She went on her trip and came back. Of course, I was ready to pump her for every tiny detail. I wanted to live vicariously through her. I wanted to hear about the cappuccino, the food, the museums, the history, the people – everything.
I was surprised to hear that she had a HORRIBLE time. The rooms were small and smelly. She couldn’t get a good meal. The shopping was expensive and stupid. The people were rude. She did not have a single thing she liked.
I WAS SHOCKED!!!! We have had fun together in tiny towns in Oklahoma that they haven’t even bothered to name yet! HOW could Italy not be fun???????
Because of who she was hanging with… A grouch, sourpuss person that thought nothing in this world was ever good enough for her.
Don’t Ruin It
Don’t let someone you are hanging ruin your trip through life. Give great thought and purpose to your associations.
Hang with someone that will complete you, not compete with you.
She has only been to Italy once and it was ruined. We only have one trip through life – let’s make the best of it and hang with people that maximize the gift of life that has been given to us.
With that being said, I want to invite you to hang with the women of Faith Church Friday night at 7:30pm at our new campus in Sunset Hills.
Its A Girl Thing
Lisa Osteen Comes will be there to speak. We are having a dessert showdown (bring your best) and we all win. The best dessert takes home an 18 piece stainless steel cookware set by Wolfgang Puck.
The rest of us take home a full belly of great desserts! Calories are banned from the building that night.
Don’t miss it. A great chance to hang!
You are so inspiring Nicole! Thank you for being you, and Thank God for bringing you and Faith Church into my life for the past couple of weeks. I was attending a different church for the past 10 years, and decided to give Faith a try when you moved into the new campus, and I have felt uplifted and very blessed ever since. Keep doing what you guys are doing and making a huge imact in the community.
I am so jealous (in a good way) of everyone who lives close enough to be at “It’s a Girl Thing” if you live within driving distance, go!!! You will not be sorry! Love and miss you, Pastor Nicole!!!

Pastor Nicole…I hope this blog is not just “a girl thing”, because I enjoy your blogs also…since Tuesday night, I have watched the forces that form your future on Kevingerald.tv, and also read the book…the force of relationships is a very powerful thing, no doubt…I play a lot of golf and have found it is so much enjoyable in a group of positive, non cursing, happy go lucky men. Hope to help out tonight, but I will probably do a family activity…have fun!!! I know you all will
