Honestly, I wasn’t feeling very holy. Before you say anything, see if you’ve ever felt like this. I was headed to Florida (like I do all the time), but the airline was having five – hour delays! (Come on, seriously? UGH!)
The annoying reminders kept popping up on my phone, so I decided to find the one thing in an airport that makes everything better … Coffee!! (I mean it is a vitamin, right?)
There was a HUGE group of people waiting around at Starbucks. That should have been my first clue… but it wasn’t.
Well, it took ten minutes just to get to the counter. After another twenty minutes, I was still waiting for that coffee! Did I ever tell you how much I hate to wait?
I’ll be honest. I started freaking out a little bit! What if I run out of time? What if the airline fixes the problem and my plane leaves without me? I’ve already waited this long, I don’t want to rush off without my drink.
In the middle of my rant, God revealed something to me. He said, “So, you’re willing to hunt down and wait for a cup of coffee … but you don’t want to wait on Me.”
Why does God always have to throw down like that?? But He was SO right!
We’re willing to hunt out a sale and stand in line because it’s a good deal.
We’re focused in, ready to hit “Add to Cart” the second those tickets are finally available
We’ll spend YEARS looking for the right man to marry.
But seek out God?? Wait on Him?
If you’re like me, we don’t want to miss out on the exciting treasure God has for us because we rushed around, too busy to even think about looking for Him.
But when we go on the hunt of a lifetime to discover more of Him, God helps us scout out the very best things in life (that are usually hidden just a little bit), and are so worth the wait!
