I remember a guy I once dated, who I confided in and told part of my story to. Immediately— he was OUT!
But, the fact that he “bailed” on me was good because it just brought all that junk to the surface more quickly.
Sometimes, we feel ashamed and swear that we’re never going to tell our story. We’re gonna shove it in the closet— like it never happened.
But, if you can’t BEAR your story—then there’s no way you can SHARE your story!
I was given away by my dad, adopted when I was three, molested in fourth grade, raped in eighth grade, bullied in junior high, and pregnant by the time I was seventeen.
I can tell my whole story, NOW, without having all the bad emotions. Facts are facts. But those facts are PAST!
What happened TO ME is not who I am!
God’s plan for our lives doesn’t change, based on what we’ve done—what was done to us— or how bad we think we’ve screwed up!
Become comfortable with YOUR truth and tell your story to anyone who will listen! It doesn’t have to be from a platform or blasted on social media.
There’s so much POWER in telling your story— because the more you tell it, the less power it has OVER YOU!
As women, we can empower other women, just like us, by simply sharing our life experiences.
God LOVES you! So—just tell your story from HIS perspective!
