Have you ever eaten your lunch in a public school bathroom?

(Sorry, did I spoil your appetite?)

I’ve done it many times… but… yeah… I really don’t recommend it. Needless to say, junior high was a very lonely time in my life.

I was taunted on the school bus. Daily. Mercilessly. Relentlessly.

I was no longer invited to birthday parties… or any parties. I was excluded and forgotten.

And by some weird coincidence, there never seemed to be an open seat at ANY of the lunchroom tables. Hmmm…

(Vicious rumors can really take their toll.)

I guess, nobody loved me. Or even liked me.

Nobody cared. Or, at least that’s how it felt.

I felt like an ugly old WORM!

We have an enemy. But we also have an “inner me.” That playlist on replay inside our head that NEVER seems to shut up!

Maybe that’s why I can identify with a butterfly. It starts out life so ugly and unusable.

“I’m stuck here, crawling around on the dirty old ground! How come everyone else can fly, but ME?”

Those times feel tight… and dark… and so lonely.

But, it’s in that time that God is allowing us to DEVELOP our faith and learn to trust in Him.

Not in your own strength, but truly in His. You can come out of that constricting cocoon and realize,

“WOW! I’ve been a beautiful butterfly, all along!”

God don’t make NO junk! (Forgive my English) He has created such incredible beauty on the INSIDE of you!

So, start putting MORE of the right message, the right thoughts, and the right words inside of you. Because, we’re always going to repeat the last thing that we heard.

You’re definitely not the worm that the enemy said you were. 

You’re a BEAUTIFUL butterfly getting ready to spread your wings and SOAR!
