I’m embarrassed. I have to admit a FAILURE to you.
Those are words I have to say more often that I’d like – including today. So… here goes…
(Deep breath)
I only had 10 GOALS for 2022.
(And I wrote the “Goal Getters” book – so I should’ve reached them all. Right?)
Well….I DIDN’T.
I can admit failure, lower my head, and sulk. OR, I can recommit. Re-up and get back in the game!
I was going to write two new books in 2022. I wrote ZERO. ZILCH. NADA. (IF you only count books.)
Instead… that morphed into a Mastermind Group that I wrote a curriculum for. (The DEEP and lasting life-change that’s happening is blowing me away!)
Sometimes in December and January, we aren’t aware of what God is going to make available to us in the new year.
Writing our goals in pencil, so that HE can write in PEN… is crucial.
Say this out loud, “Take my hand, Lord, and guide me to write the story You want for me.”
Some of our failures aren’t REALLY failures at all. They’re more like “not right now,” redirection, and change of focus.
Sometimes we miss God’s DESIRE in our goal writing and it takes reflection and humility to finally see it.
Oh, and I failed on another goal.
I was going to be conversationally fluent in Spanish.
IF I’d been faithful, every day, maybe… leaving a lot of latitude in the meaning of “fluent”. Like, a lost tourist able to get out of the country in conversational Spanish. jajaj (That’s lol in Spanish).
But, I’m moving that goal to 2023. AND, I’m going to be more faithful.
Nobody bats 1000. The point is to continue. DON’T quit. Be focused and enjoy the progress you DO make.
It’s not what you get for attaining your goals. It’s WHO you BECOME by achieving your goals!
Trust me. You’re gonna do great things in 2023. In fact… you’re gonna CRUSH it!
