Strangers tell me the deepest things on airplanes. I can be minding my own business with a coffee and a laptop, and within minutes someone is opening their life to me. Everthing from marriage struggles, private fears and old regrets to faith questions and whispered prayers they have never even said out loud.
It still catches me off guard every time.
Just a few weeks ago, a woman leaned in and said something I can’t shake. “I’m not falling apart… but I’m not on fire either. I’m just existing in the middle.”
That kind of tired hides well.
No public meltdown. No dramatic story. Just a slow dimming. We keep our commitments and show up for our people. Lead what we’re supposed to lead. Smile when expected. And meanwhile the inner spark quietly slips out the back door.
She told me, “I still believe in God. I just don’t feel alive in my life right now.” My heart ached.
I hear versions of that all the time. Not rebellion. Not self destruction. Just good women running on fumes and calling it normal.
The dreams that once felt urgent now feel optional. Ideas that used to feel assigned by God start to feel unrealistic. Joy slinks into the back seat as our energy tank runs low. The heart puts up a little armor. Our expectation drops and calls it maturity.
We rename the condition so we don’t have to face it. We say it is a busy stretch. A hard quarter. Or, a demanding season. You know! Responsibility. We are adulting.
But let’s be honest. Some things did not go dormant. They stopped breathing.
While all of this is facts and very real, there is a truth that is the spine and center of the gospel that I believe the Lord wants to share with you – God brings dead things back to life.
Not patching up a worn and tired life. Not managing the stress in a better way. Not using AI tricks to try and make what is imagination real. Not a slightly improved and supplemented/peptided you. Really – ALIVE.
The enemy keeps trying to throw dirt on whatever would make the biggest difference if it fully came alive in you. Not because you are weak, but because you are dangerous when you are awake. When your faith is close, your courage is active, your prayers are bold, and your sense of calling is clear, you stop living small and start changing rooms. That is the version of you he hopes stays buried.
Here is what he misses. You are seed.
Seed looks hidden before it looks strong. It sits covered before it rises green. From the outside it looks like loss, but from heaven’s view it’s placement. Same dirt. Different destiny.
Buried is disposal. Planted is preparation.
What felt like the finish line might actually be the starting line.
Maybe this is not your shutdown chapter but your growth chapter. Maybe the dark place is not proof of death but proof of development.
That is exactly why we are gathering for re-VIVE. One FREE night for women who want their faith, joy, and fire to come back online. No pressure. No performance. Just space for God to breathe on places that feel worn thin.
If your heart feels dull, your spirit feels dry, or your passion feels distant, this night is for you.
Grab a friend who needs her strength back. Text the one who almost quit this year. Bring the woman who says she is fine but you can tell she is fighting.
