5 Ways To Make Every Hour A Happy Hour

#1 Cheer up your coworkers
If the people around you are enjoying their day, it will be a lot easier for you to enjoy yours.

The best way to brighten someone’s day is to affirm them with positive statements. Everyone wants to feel accepted, so make it your goal to compliment someone today.

#2 Stay focused for one hour at a time
You will be surprised by how much you can get done if you do not allow yourself to be interrupted for one hour (and productiveness leads to happiness).

Close your email. Put your phone on silent. Shut your door. Studies have proven that it takes 15 minutes to get back on track after an interruption.

#3 Pay active attention.
“Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NLT)

Over time, making a conscious effort to pay active attention will make your mind twice as sharp.

For example, often times I listen to podcasts on double speed. Then I repeat what they are saying so my mind does not wonder off. This helps me stay focused on the task at hand.

#4 Drink lots of water.
Although coffee is the Christian’s drug of choice, drinking water is the secret to sustained energy. While it’s easy to stop by Quicktrip and load up on soda, caffeine is only able to make you feel alert for a short time.

Next time you need a quick pick me up, try chugging two glasses of water. Up to 60% of the human body is water and the brain is composed of 70% water.

Water is the easiest way to keep your mind alert and your body refreshed. And you can’t beat the price.

#5 Celebrate you!
When you complete the task, finish the project, or make the sale, then make a big deal out of it. Take yourself to lunch. Do something you’ve wanted to do. Give thanks!

Random Bonus Tip: Organize your workspace. Clean your office (and desk). Sharpen your pencil. Clear out your email box. If you keep everything in order, you’ll be more productive.

One last thing – start right now! Do each of these five things and I promise, you are going to feel more in charge of your life, and the people around you are going to be shocked.

This email is too good to delete. I am saving it so I can read it often and remind myself how to be happy!
    Thank You!
