From a very young age we dream about finding our significant other, and then eventually we do.
Your own little fairytale begins! You’re on the top of the world, and you almost feel as if you could sprout wings at any moment and fly! You’re in LOVE! You’ve found the “one”, and surely nothing will ever be able to come between the two of you……right?
What Happened?
Right! Well, at least for a little while, until the REALITY of life hits both of you smack dab in the middle of the face.
No relationship is perfect. If we’re not careful the stress, problems, responsibilities, finances of life can wiggle their way between us and our loved one to the point we no longer find ourselves wanting to be at each others side. This, my friend, is called DIVISION, and nothing destroys a relationship faster.
The Oldest Trick
Division is dangerous, and it’s the oldest trick in the devil’s handbook, designed to trip us up and completely mess us up. In Mark 3:25 it says, “a house divided CANNOT stand.”
God wants your “house” of love to stand, but if division has been allowed to set in and isn’t addressed, chances are it’s headed down the wrong path and needs to turn back.
How Does It Start?
There are so many things that threaten to cause division in relationships, it’s ridiculous!
There’s the kids (regardless of how cute they may be), house, money, the mistakes made and the arguments that result because of them—the list goes on! Trust me—I know.
Help is Here!
If you feel like I just painted a perfect PICTURE of where your relationship is at right now and you feel like you’re out of hope, don’t be!
I happen to know to know a God who’s skilled in the art of REBUILDING the “houses” of love that have been destroyed by the storm of division—no matter how far they seem beyond repair! All you have to do is ask.
Next time a situation pops up ask yourself:
“Is this issue bringing us closer together or pulling us apart?”
“Is this uniting us or dividing us?”
And If it’s causing division, get rid of it ASAP. You can’t allow division to sneak in and mess with your relationship. Not even a little bit. Don’t even give it a chance.
The Long and Short Of It
Don’t let the SHORT term problems of today ruin the LONG term relationship of tomorrow because of division. It’s not worth it, but your relationship is. Work together. Love together. Live life together. Stand together—through the stress, the problems, the good times, the bad times—even the “Ooo, I can’t stand you times.”
If you do that, you’re relationship will be STRONGER than the divisions that will try to come in between, and not even the worse situations will be able to pull you two apart.
Rebuilding is possible with God all things are possible. Hold onto hope and follow God’s desires for your life.
You got that right!
