A retired man moved to a house near a junior high school. He spent his first few weeks of retirement in PEACE and QUIET.
However, when a new school year began, there were three young boys who beat on EVERY trash can they passed on their way home from school.
Finally, the man decided to take ACTION and walked out to meet the boys.
He said, “You kids are a lot of fun. I’ll give you each a DOLLAR if you’ll promise to come around every day and do your thing.”
A Bang-Up Job!
After a few days, the man told the boys, “This recession’s really putting a big dent in my income. From now on, I’ll ONLY be able to pay you 50 cents to beat on the trash cans.”
The noisemakers were displeased, but they accepted his offer.
A few days later, the retiree approached them again. “Look,” he said, “I haven’t received my Social Security check yet, so I’m not going to be able to pay you more than 25 cents. Will that be OK?”
“A QUARTER?” The drum leader exclaimed. “If you think we’re going to waste our time beating on these cans for a quarter…you’re nuts. We QUIT!!!”
Wisdom Is EVERYTHING!
The wild thing is; that God knows what to do EVERY time!
(I probably would have threatened to call their MOMS, their SCHOOL or bought a PIT BULL.)
• God knows how to fix our RELATIONSHIPS.
• He knows how to raise our KIDS.
• He knows how to balance our FINANCES.
• And He knows how to deal with that BIG MOUTH at work.
“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you ALL things.” John 14:26(AMP)
Prayer For Today
We have the WISEST COUNSEL in eternity available to us. Let’s ask His help on the decisions we have in front of us right now.
“Father, there are so many of us with financial problems. We’re in relationships that we don’t want to waste time in. We’re in jobs that we’re not supposed to stay in. We’re up against situations where we don’t know what to do. God, You know all and said You would teach us all things. We ask You to reveal to us the way that we should go. We will follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
God I trust in you to show me the path I should follow. Teach me and guide me. I am open to you. Great blog!
