I was reading a book that said that a person’s financial income tends to be the AVERAGE income of their five closest friends.

That immediately led me to the question…
Who do we GO TO for guidance in making big decisions?
Who do we ASK when we’re facing an important choice?

It’s funny, but most of us tend to ask our FRIENDS…who really don’t KNOW any more than we do!

So That Got Me Thinking
If I’m asking these people WHAT I should do, or if they’re offering me advice on MY life…then what is their:

• Relational Income – Are THEY cheating on their spouse? Do they treat the important people in their life like I want to?

• Emotional Income – How do THEY react to life? Are they a negative drama-mama? Are they always in an emotional tailspin?

• Spiritual Income – Do THEY value God in their life? Are they living life for Him, or in ways that don’t honor Him? Will following their advice bring me closer to God or further away?

God Advice
So many times, I’ve heard David say, “Show me your friends (who you spend time with) and I’ll show your future.”

Turning to WISE counsel is biblical. But you have access to the most wise advice in the universe.

God in heaven is always WAITING for us to ask Him to weigh-in on what’s weighing us down in life.

He wants to LIFT our weight and give us love, joy and peace.

Doesn’t He sound like a great sounding board? Let’s draw Him in on the questions and needs we have in life right now.

Prayer For Today
“Father, forgive us for overlooking You as a source of guidance and advice. We ask You to lead us and guide us today in every decision that we make. We hold nothing back and we trust You. Thank you for loving us enough to help us with everything that we bring to You In Jesus name, Amen.”

The one who has the power to make anything possible is God. I often times have turned to my friends or family for the answers. I learned I can speak to them but if I wanted a different result I needed to talk to the one who is always there and has the ability to do anything he desires and he placed the desires in my heart so why wouldn’t he have the desire to love me and help me! I am loved by God for I am his daughter.

Once I learned that lesson, Pastor Nicole, life got so much easier and better. Right now I am waiting on God to tell me if and when I need to move. My children want me to move into a home on one level which I understand. I do not have peace about it and since I have asked God to guide that decision, I will wait on His direction. Thanks for the reinforcement as always.
