I wasn’t excited about moving, but I knew it was the RIGHT thing to do.
We were looking at a house that was PERFECT for us. It was smaller, less maintenance, closer to church…our dream.

After seeing the house, we got back in the car and David looked over at me to see what I thought…and I just started BAWLING!

I apologized. “I don’t know what my problem is. I just can’t stop crying!”

Try, Try Again!
David was SO sweet. He suggested that we give it a few days and try again.

We looked at a few other houses (with NO interest) and headed back to that perfect house.

When we walked through the second time, everything looked great! But when we got back to the car, the “water works” started…AGAIN!

You’ve GOT to be kidding me! I couldn’t even believe it myself!

I apologized to David again. “I AM an obedient wife. I WILL move. I just don’t think I can live HERE, but I don’t know WHY!”

The Perfect Fit
A few days later, another house came on the market that needed a LOT of work.

The owners had nasty pets and it was pretty beat up. It was a BIG project that we really DIDN’T have time for.

But when we got back to the car, (Don’t throw me under the bus yet!) we looked at each other and SMILED.

The “less-than-perfect” house just FIT. We had PEACE!!!

Peace Is How God Leads Us
Once we get around to actually talking to God and asking Him for direction in our lives; the next thing we have to figure out is…WHAT IS GOD SAYING?

• Be led forth with PEACE. Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)
• Let PEACE be the umpire. Colossians 3:15 (AMP)
• Let PEACE rule in your hearts. Col 3:15 (NKJV)
• JOY of the Lord is strength. Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV)
• The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, PEACE. Galatians 5:22 (NIV)

When we feel that God is leading us in a certain DIRECTION, we take a step. If we have peace, joy and love…then we take ANOTHER step.

God knows the true desires of our heart and He LEADS and guides us in the way we should go.

It’s His way that brings us to an expected end and gives us a FUTURE and a HOPE.

Prayer For Today
“God, I will follow Your peace. I ask You to lead my footsteps. Direct my path. With every step I take, I will check for peace. When I find peace, I’ll know that I’ve found Your will for me. In Jesus name, Amen.”

When decisions are being made and a feeling of peace abounds then step forward, but .when peace is not felt…stop…give it a few days…pray…if it is God today, it will be God tomorrow. Don’t be in a hurry.

I wanted to say thank your for this blog post. I have been struggling with finding peace and really asking God for guidance. I need to know what direction he wants me to go and this blog post helped me understand how to listen for it and know. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
