I remember one time when I committed a particular sin and I asked God to forgive me.
A few days later, I went back to God and said, “I just wanted to say again, I’m sorry for that sin.” I heard him say, “What sin?” He truly had FORGOTTEN all about it.
You ask me, how could it be that God could forget about our sin? He’s God and he can do WHATEVER he wants to do!
Run To Jesus
For years, we have conditioned ourselves to run AWAY from God when we sin. By doing so, we allow the sin to SEPARATE us and keep us from His love!
God is NOT freaked out, so you should not be freaked out. When we sin, we should run TO Jesus immediately and ask for forgiveness.
One of the most incredible scriptures in the Bible is 1 John 1:9. It says “..if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” How great is that?
A Clean Slate
In my office there are three giant dry-erase boards that we use for planning sessions. My daughter often comes in and uses colorful markers to scribble words and drawings all over them.
I don’t freak out; because I know with the power of my hand (and a big eraser) everything can be wiped out. No one will ever be able to see the mess that she made on the wall.
No Fishing!
This is exactly what we can experience when we realize that God loves us completely and 100% unconditionally.
He’s taken our sins and thrown them as far as the east is from the west, NEVER to remember them again. And I believe when He threw them in the sea of forgetfulness, He posted a giant sign that says, NO FISHING!!!
God has forgiven us and wiped our slate clean. Isn’t it time we forgive ourselves?
I love God so much that he loves me enough to forgive me! Thank you God for forgiveness and grace!
