traffic

As you stand in line or sit in traffic, wait patiently and eagerly with the knowledge that you are blessed and highly favored.

We spend so much of our lives waiting.

Waiting at the doctor’s office…

Waiting at red lights…

Waiting on our food…

If we don’t learn to enjoy the wait, then life can get miserable fast.

But if you’re like me, waiting can be difficult.

I’m 100% speed. I’m always on the go. I listen to podcasts at double speed because I want to know everything as fast as possible.

Then I heard the Lord say, “Slow down, don’t be in a hurry. Stop to smell the roses.”

Waiting Is A Good Thing. It Is A God Thing.
“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

Patience is a characteristic of God. Lack of patience is the result of uncertainty in what the future holds.

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.” James 5:7 (NLT)

The farmer knows the harvest will come because the seed has been planted. He eagerly awaits the coming seasons with no doubt and no uncertainty.

Like The Farmer, We Should Have A Confident Expectation Of Good In Every Season Of Our Life
If you’re waiting on an answer or an outcome from the Lord, ask yourself this question.

Do I believe that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord?

I sure do.

“I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13 (NIV)

Today, I Encourage You To Trust In God’s Goodness And Rest His Love For You
As you stand in line or sit in traffic, wait patiently and eagerly with the knowledge that you are blessed and highly favored.

Let His unmerited favor shower you today. Embrace every moment. Live in the now and enjoy where you are even if you’re not where you want to be. Smell the roses.

You spoke directly to me. In February, I tore my ACL, PCL, LCL, dislocated my knee, broke my fibula and injured my meniscus. Talk about pain. However, the hardest part is the waiting to heal, waiting to walk, waiting to drive. I am also always going a 100% speed. I want to go, go, go. Remember the nursery rhyme, “Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I am the gingerbread man.”
I am learning that I must enjoy the stillness and wait on God. He needed me to slow down so that I can hear his voice.

Thank you for this post Pastor Nicole. I am currently waiting for a phone call to start our home study for our adoption. Its nerve wracking but I know its worth the wait. I just have to keep telling myself that and putting everything to God.
