Whether we are in a situation like Ruth (foreigner with nothing), Lazarus (dead), or me, where I lost a close loved one, we all wonder “Why can’t God just fix it!” Well, He can. But He wants us to walk by faith and not by sight. He wants us to move confidently forward into the plans He has for us. There will be work involved and it won’t be easy because if it were, everyone would do it. We’ve got to rest, wait and be ready to move when God says, “There’s your opportunity, now GO!”
We Limit God With Our Doubt
It’s so easy for us to get into self-pity and doubt. We allow the enemy and inner-me to keep us off of the beaten path by questioning God. Whatever we do, we must not put limits on God. “With Men This Is Impossible, But With God All Things Are Possible.” (Matthew 19:26) “If God Be For Us Who Can Be Against Us?” (Romans 8:31)
God Thinks Differently Than We Do
God thinks bigger than we think. (Isaiah 55:8-9) We tend to think that what we have done equals what we are going to do. We can’t comprehend how immense, and how HUGE the things are that God wants to do for us.
God Never Stops Bad Things, Or Does He?
One day a woman questioned God. She asked how He could allow so many things to go wrong in her day. Her perspective was that God wasn’t taking care of her.
God Explains
Your alarm didn’t go off because there was a drunk driver on the freeway, so I delayed you so that you wouldn’t get harmed.
Your sandwich got sent back because the person who made it wasn’t feeling good. I didn’t want you to get sick and get what they had.
The phone call was dropped because right when I dropped it that person was getting ready to fill you full of trash, unbelief, and gossip. I didn’t want that in your system.
The foot massager didn’t work because there was a short in it and if I had allowed it, you would have lost power for the whole evening and I didn’t want you to sit there in the dark.
Don’t Rush God
“Trust In The LORD With All Your Heart; Do Not Depend On Your Own Understanding. Seek His Will In All You Do, And He Will Show You Which Path To Take.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
God’s Got This!
So make no mistake about it that God is in control of your life and He has it all mapped out. If we talk to Him, listen to Him, and trust Him, we will arrive at our assigned destination on time.
