Our family travels a lot and we LOVE to shop! So, one of the first things we do in every new town…is find out where the NEAREST MALL is!
Even in a strange new place, I never worry about being able to find the bathroom. Because, in every mall concourse there’s that GIANT MAP that shows the location of all the stores and restrooms.
And because I have no earthly idea where I am; right next to the big red dot, it always says… “YOU ARE HERE!” Hallelujah!!!
God wants us to get to where we’re going. But, many times, we won’t take that first step and observe WHERE we are in life.
We don’t want to look at that because we don’t think we’ve achieved ENOUGH at this stage of our lives.
We don’t want to examine where we are because we don’t want to talk about our shortcomings.
But, that’s the first step before going to the next level. Don’t be afraid to honestly examine WHERE YOU ARE. Don’t be afraid of what you’ll find.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand…” Zachariah 4:10 (NLT)
When God sees us embark on something new, when He sees us STRETCH, when He sees us MOVE, when He sees us get UNCOMFORTABLE…He gets excited!
He says, “YES! They’re really gonna do it! They’re really gonna do what I created them to do!”

Take a good long look at your life and WHERE YOU ARE, now. Tell us WHERE YOU WANT TO GO, from here.
Hi I am Robin,
I actually retired from a job and last year resigned from a place where I wasn’t valued. I am now employed at a place I believed that is God ordained and I love what I do. It is actually in a place I would never have chosen but I am so glad that my days are in the Father’s hands.
I hope to marry my “Boaz” some day and embark with Him on a “Heavenly adventure”.
Very good reminder! That was good to hear that the Lord rejoices to see us step out. So I need to rejoice too! Sometimes by faith, especially if others aren’t happy. Thanks Pastor Nicole! You and PD definitely step out quite a bit and are great examples!
I am confused at rhis point in my life. I always try to do my best and to go above and beyond to help others but I feel lost as to my purpose. I dont know what my purpose is and I dont know how to find it. Where do I begin? I have given myself to Jesus. I do believe he has risen and is the sonof God.
I would love the rest of my life on the coast of Florida.
I want to be married, been single too long.
I want to be a S.A.G.E. at Faith Church – St. Louis
That stands for Servant And General Encourager ! I have signed up for a few Dream Teams
after Growth Track , including: Creativity, Event Planning and Drama. Currently I volunteer
with the Communion Clean -Up Team.
I am thankful for the words of wisdom in your blog. In this stage of my life I am recognizing where I am, however, it sometimes seems confusing taking that path that will lead me into the next phase of life. It is with God’s mercy and grace that I have began to make that necessary step. Thank you for your obedience as well as due diligence to God’s word and his people. It is appreciated.
Amen, you always keep it real for me. Thank God for the messages you give.
I’m at the brink of wanting to start my business. I’ve often said that I was going to do it, however I allowed myself to get distracted and disheartened. I often said I don’t know what my purpose is. I’m waiting on God to show me. I said this time I’m going to see it through. I’m nervous. This is my Banner Year!! I do believe God is going to move in my favor.
