When was a little girl, we lived out on a gravel road until I was in the 8th grade. After David and I got married, we lived on a horse farm (on a different gravel road) for ANOTHER seven years.
The other day it occurred to me, that I’ve probably spent a THIRD OF MY LIFE on a gravel road.
I guess, that makes me a COUNTRY GIRL!
That’s very humbling to me, especially now, that I have this platform of great opportunity for LEADERSHIP.
How did a country girl DESERVE that?
You may have done foolish things in your past and feel like you have a permanent mark on your record. Maybe, you’re a single parent. Maybe you didn’t get to go to college.
With God, there are NO LIMITS on our future…except the ones we create!
Sometimes, leaders lead from the place of their pain, afraid someone else will show them up. They’re insecure. They don’t want to be around people that they think are BETTER or SMARTER than they are.
But, a GOOD LEADER will attract quality people that can complement their own talents.
As a leader, don’t let your past limit you. Don’t create a “leadership lid” on yourself, because of insecurity.
Instead, let’s allow the humble beginnings of OUR PAST remind us to give other people the same opportunities we had to lead.
Take it for what it’s worth.
Just a few words of leadership advice from a “gravel road girl”!

Last month, I had the incredible honor to be interviewed by Dr. Steve Greene, of the Charisma Podcast Network.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to do so, now. I think it will bless you in many areas of your life.
I met you at Radiant Women this year. (I don’t have those holes in the knees and the Holy Spirit is motivating me that way.)
Your thoughts are bringing me such release from condemnation and releasing me to fellowship with Him.
I am sharing your blogs and working on giving your books.
Your life and ministry are precious to me.
Thank you,
Hi Pastor Nicole
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for Hi God (It’s Me Again). I really have been blessed by it and I’ve only been in it 6 days. I’m a 63 year young female that has an awesome testimony from the Lord Jesus Christ and at this point in my life I’m focusing more on being closer to God and allowing Him to get the best from me. I’m continually growing in Him and striving to get all of His blessings. I really appreciate how He has put me in touch with people, places, and things that are helping me get there. My husband and I love watching you and Pastor David and we are always blessed by your messages. Pastor David and his father were good friends of our late Bishop and have been apart of our lives since we have become members of the great Church He has planted us in under an awesome anointed Pastor. Thank God for servants who are real and are SOLD OUT TO JESUS! We continually pray for Faith Church and all concerning your work for the Kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen!

God blessed me to be uplifted in the spirit through the both of you.
My husband stopped working in 2001. So he got SSD but it wasn’t much. I worked until 2014. I lost my job, but I would still be working if I hadn’t. I thought it was bad then, now its even worse. I am now on SSD also and we are on a fixed income. I have small pension coming in once a month but its not much. So needless to say no vacations, no clothes, no cars, no nice house. i sometimes wonder if God didn’t let this happen so I would learn to trust him to get a thru every month. This is living on the edge for sure. Sometimes only $100 left in the checkbook at the end of the pay period. So we tithe and thank God to get us thru. We have been married 35 years and I blame him for this but it doesn’t get me anywhere??? Pray for me please
