Right now — I’m gonna lay it on the line. I’m GUILTY!
When I’m at the office late (almost every day), I feel guilty that I’m not with my family.
When I do take time with my family, I feel guilty that I’m not working. (Even if it’s my day off.)
Ironic, huh?
With the kids, I feel guilty about missing “husband time.” On a date night, I feel guilty about leaving my kids.
(We haven’t even talked about the dog, the neighbors, the P.T.A., the room mothers, and friends.)
OH MY! Who has time for friends?
When I workout, I feel guilty because I’m not with the family or working. If I don’t workout, I feel like I’m not taking care of my health.
When I eat sweets, I feel like I’m cheating. But, if I turn down the birthday cake, I feel like others think I’m being self-righteous.
In almost every situation, the enemy comes to steal our JOY — through those little pangs of GUILT. (Sneaky, huh?)
But, God wants us to enjoy our lives so much that it OVERFLOWS! When people see how much fun we’re having, they’ll want to know what WE HAVE that they don’t.
JESUS!!!
So, let’s decide to STOMP OUT GUILT and enjoy where we are, right now!
If you’re reading this on your phone, just do a DANCE that you have a smart phone!
If you’re unemployed, be EXCITED about having a break from the rat race!
If you’re covered in kid puke, be HAPPY it’s just a passing flu and nothing more serious!
God gave you an EXTRAORDINARY LIFE! Don’t let the enemy guilt you!
