I was driving down the road, just thinking about all the things I’d been looking forward to.
But, it seemed like everything was going up in SMOKE!
I know— I’m NOT perfect!
I know— I STILL have work to do!
I just wanted to yell out loud. “I KNOW I’ve screwed up! OKAY? But, when is my punishment over?”
Suddenly, I looked up and saw a sign in the middle of a yard.
“YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY YOUR MISTAKES”
What was that? I’ve NEVER seen a sign like that, before!
I tried to imagine— how much maneuvering did it take for God to get that sign, RIGHT THERE, precisely when I needed to see it?
I started fighting back tears because I didn’t want David to know what I was feeling. (He really didn’t need the hassle.)
When we got home, I decided to go for a prayer walk. I listened to a message that seemed like it was a real WORD— just for ME!
It talked about staying the course, no matter what things looked like! Hope floats! Faith keeps believing, even when a storm comes!
I was PUMPED!!!
Am I gonna be a “FAITH girl?” Or, am I gonna FIZZLE?
God arranged to put a sign in a yard and a message in my ear that were PERFECT for the moment.
It’s kind of a process— like having someone feed you and then, finally, learning to feed YOURSELF.
Lord, give me the spoon!
I may make a mess— but honestly, I can still feel that Your Hand is on the handle!
