Wait… what just happened here?

A few years ago, I was speaking at a women’s event and the pastors took me out to IHOP for dinner. (We some classy people, huh?)

I noticed them whispering. (Oh NO! Did I preach okay? Did I have something stuck in my teeth?)

A little later, this beautiful college girl walked in and joined us.

I was SO impressed with her! I can’t explain it… but something just kinda clicked for me.

But running to IHOP, that night, was NOT what this girl had planned. The pastors had actually forgotten their wallets and called her… in a PANIC. (I’d be panicking, too!)

She raced to her pastor’s house, got the wallets, and snuck into the restaurant to SAVE the day. (Meanwhile… I had no idea!)

With God, it’s not always what we SEE happening in the light that’s secretly changing our lives.

After that, I kept thinking about her… for MONTHS! For some reason, I just felt connected, like I wanted to “do life” with her.

I asked her to fly in for our women’s event. (I thought we were supposed to work together and I wanted to conduct an undercover interview!)

So often we feel like we’re in the wrong place at the wrong time… like we’ve missed our ONE shot!

But God puts us where we are, INTENTIONALLY, so we have a chance to grow roots. Even if it doesn’t make any sense to us at the time.

When that obedient girl grabbed the pastor’s keys that night, she was really grabbing the keys to her own FUTURE!

Today, Morgan is my wonderful daughter-in-love and a successful, powerhouse pastor!

Be expectant, be obedient, and be ready to BLOOM where God calls you to GROW!
