Our friend sent us this picture and text while he was in an airplane. Up there just seems so much closer to God 🙂
It was so good I had to share it. So today’s blog is a share from a good friend.
What a great illustration of looking through the eyes of God versus ours.
I’ve been flying for many years but when I took off from Destin today I got to experience something I’ve never seen. West of my position was perfectly clear, east of my position was a thin layer of sold clouds. As you can see in the picture my position in the air (about 2000 feet) put me right on the line just west of cloud deck; so I could see above it and below it. Under the deck was complete darkness above the deck was bright with the sun coming up. I was in the position to see both above and below.
I thought, this is how God sees the world. He sees what is and what it will be. He sees the sun but also sees the dark at the same time.
Long thought brings me to this. We walk under the cloud and see dark. God teaches us to trust that there is light just 2000′ above us but we have to believe and trust it’s there because we can’t see it.
God has given us the gift and we have received it.
Now how many people have not received this gift so they walk around under the cloud and never understand that the light is just 2000′ above us and it will come through. They walk in a dark world with no understanding the sun will shine.
It’s important we all think about this when we see no light. Stand on Gods word that the light is right above us we must just believe.
Someone once said “Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, and faith looks up!” I will be reminded next time whenever I look up to the sky, God sees “beyond” what I see and His thoughts are not my thoughts and His ways are not my ways. Thank you Pastor Nicole! What a blessed reminder and message!
Pastor Nicole,
Just want to thank you so much for your power filled messages on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. They were so anointed. Our 23 yr old grandson said there were several things you brought out that were just for him.
Please thank all those who were involved in the depiction of the crucifixion and resurrection and all those involved in the worship and music portions for their wonderful job. My husband and I had tears several times it was so real. Best Easter weekend services we have attended ever.
