Back when David and I first started, we only had one little church building in Fenton— and we were quickly outgrowing that!
So naturally, we started thinking about how we could add on.
The City promptly told us, “NO!!!”
In fact, they told us that we would NEVER be able to build or expand ANYTHING on that property!
WHAT??? That is SO wrong! (And clearly prejudiced against God’s Church!)
I was MAD!!!
I was totally gearing up to go to WAR! But then, David convinced me to let it go and allow God to fight our battles.
I finally agreed. (But, I wasn’t happy about it!)
Joel Osteen’s dad, John, always used to say, “If you’re rubbing the cat the wrong way—then TURN the cat around!”
So, we started thinking about other ways to solve the problem— like looking for a bigger building in a different city.
That’s how we ended up owning the AMAZING Earth City Campus! And then added the beautiful Sunset Hills Campus, as well!
Sometimes, we can be technically right… and still be WRONG!
• Right in our marriage
• Right with our teacher
• Right at our job
But, when we hold on to OUR own way of doing things, we’re just delaying God’s Perfect Will for us.
If He can just pry loose that thing we’ve been holding onto… God has the ability to bless us with something so much BETTER than we could ever have imagined!
The Lord, Himself, goes out before us.
So, STOP complaining about the problem!
START asking God about His solution.
And whatever He tells you to do… DO IT!
