I wanted to KILL the Starbucks guy!!!
(Before you judge me – hear me out!)
I was flying home from a conference and I was excited because my ticket said A03. That meant I could get on the plane first to pick my seat!
I was at the airport EARLY and made it through security in a breeze. But then … I noticed Starbucks was right there. (Hey, a girl’s gotta eat.)
I still had 40 minutes. That’s PLENTY of time for some coffee and egg whites. (I mean… how hard could that order be?)
But then, FIVE minutes passed… TEN … FIFTEEN!!! (Oh, come on!)
“Uh, can I get my food please? I got a flight to catch.”
“Everybody does.” (Oh, NICE. Real helpful, buddy!)
“Sorry, I gotta go. You can give those egg whites to someone else.”
The guy looked at me. “They’re sitting right there.”
AAAAHHHH!!!
I grabbed the bag and ran. I was the VERY… LAST… person on the plane! “If everyone would PLEASE take their seat, we can take-off.” (Hey, tell that to the Starbucks guy!)
There was only one window seat open, but a kid had just vomited all over it… so I passed. I finally ended up in a COZY center seat between two “fluffy” gentlemen who recognized no boundaries.
I tried to type up my sermon with “t-rex arms.” (You can imagine how well that went!)
I was MAD! “God, I am NEVER flying on a Saturday again!
Then God whispered, “Oh, you think you’re uncomfortable now? Didn’t you see where you were going to be sitting?”
(Oh no! The vomit zone?) The Starbucks guy actually saved me from a vomit bath…. #attitudeadjustment
God is in Heaven, continually going out ahead of us, running EVERY possible scenario, and picking the very BEST adventure for us. Whether we realize it or not.
What seems inconvenient to us… might actually be an UPGRADE. Because we’ll never see all the hell we just missed!
