I was born to my mom, in Canada, and got adopted in the US by my stepdad, when I was three years old.

When they tried to issue me an American passport— they couldn’t find any record of me. It was like… I DIDN’T EVEN EXIST!

That fact really threw me off. I felt WORTHLESS— not even worth the paper my birth certificate was supposed to be printed on.

But, God planned for us— not our mama, not our daddy. No matter if they only met for one night. God is very intentional and He doesn’t make mistakes.

We’ve been chosen and ADOPTED into the Family of Christ!

Sometimes, people who’ve been left by a parent come to me and share their “pain points.” WHY did my mom and dad not want me? WHY didn’t they love me?

Insecurities come up. (You know how the devil is.)

We all fight those feelings of rejection and ABANDONMENT. How could they leave ME?

Honestly, I don’t know if I’d be who I am, today, without some of the PAIN of my past. Because, the “overachiever” in me is still trying to prove that I’m good enough—that they SHOULD HAVE wanted me!

But, we don’t have to prove ANYTHING to God! There is a divine moment of acceptance— that we don’t DESERVE— but Jesus freely gives!

God says, “Baby, I love you in ways that you’re never gonna to be able to comprehend.”

“I love you SO MUCH that I chose the color of your eyes and numbered the hairs on your head! Then, I picked the exact moment for you to be born.”

“Let Me be very clear. You were NOT an accident; you are not rejected— you are My CHOSEN ONE!”
