DON'T MISS A THING!

I love it when people come up to me and say tell me about how they have been looking for a sign in life of what to do. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “I was driving down the road and prayed, ‘God if you’re real, give me a sign.’ And then I saw your church’s billboard and here I am!”

God seriously has a sense of humor…AND He is truly trying to lead us and guide us down the path of life.

I WISH the road of life had better signage. Exit here. Food next exit. Gas next three exits. No more gas 25 miles.

Instead, we’re traveling through life not knowing exactly what each turn or exit means for us and hoping for signs of which way to go and then we launch out. So many times we’re second guessing our steps before we even take the first one. Sound familiar?

So how do we know we are going the right way in life?

God tells us a sure sign that is from Him. And He promises to direct us with it. PEACE.

His Word says, “Be led forth with peace.” As we go to take each step in life (or make each decision), we’re supposed to check inside to see if we have peace. When we are making a decision God will give us a peace on the inside, even in the midst of a storm on the outside.

You might be thinking, ‘but what if I don’t know?’ If you don’t know, don’t go. We wait until we have peace on the inside.

Another place in the Bible says to let peace act as the umpire. You’re safe! Or – You’re outta here! Peace, welling up on the inside of us, will guide us in the will of God for our life.

When there isn’t peace in a situation it may mean don’t proceed, even if we want to. Ouch, right? That’s when it’s hard to follow peace instead of what we want. The new job benefits look so great, or the new guy has such a great smile, or the new friend is just hilarious….but if there isn’t peace, we don’t go.

Following that peace, especially outside our will shows incredible trust and faith in him! Faith pleases God. Can you imagine a better place to be than standing in the middle of a place where the God of heaven and earth is pleased with you?

I believe God led you to this today because you have a decision to make. And He wants you to listen to your spirit where He is leading you with peace right now. He wants you to hear Him and follow Him into the blessing and life and peace that He has for you!

For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12 ESV

And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]. Colossians 3:15 AMPC

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

    Pastor Nicole,
Don’t know if you will see this since it is later in the week after this blog, but I just want to tell you how absolutely terrific and helpful your sermon was today, August 28th. We go to the Weldon Campus on Sundays and to the Sunset Hills campus on Tuesday nights and as often as possible on Saturday nights and every service is excellent. Today was beyond even that for my husband and I.
I don’t know how to get thank yous to you and Pastor David since I am not on facebook and the other social media, so I thought I would try reaching you through this blog. Thank you and thank Pastor David for all you do and are as leaders.
