When I was a little girl, I remember gathering empty glass soda bottles around the neighborhood and returning them to the grocery store for money.

When we had $10, it was enough to take the whole family to Kentucky Fried Chicken!
I have to admit, I STILL love KFC!!!

But, did you know that Colonel Sanders was NOT even a chef?

When he was a boy, his father died and he was left to take care of his two younger siblings while his mother was at work. By the age of seven, Harlan was already a GOOD cook!

Sometimes, God wants to do a work in us so that we’re ready for the level that He’s about to PROMOTE us to.

But during his early life, Harlan Sanders FAILED miserably at almost every career he tried:
• Farmhand
• Carriage Painter
• Streetcar Operator
• Army Soldier
• Horse Team Driver
• Blacksmith Helper
• Ash Pan Scooper
• Steam Engine Stoker
• Lawyer
• Insurance Salesman
• Ferry Boat Operator
• Secretary for the Chamber of Commerce
• Lamp Manufacturer
• Tire Salesman
• Service Station Manager

“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (NKJV)

You know, the enemy will apply his hardest PRESS to get us to quit when we are closest to our breakthrough, because that’s when he’s at risk of LOSING.

Don’t Give Up! Have FAITH!

In fact, it wasn’t until age 62 that Colonel Sanders finally sold his first KFC franchise and went on to great SUCCESS!

Sometimes it’s not just about the GOAL…it’s what happens to us DURING.

Our outcome is VICTORY and we are better, more developed, more disciplined when we get there.

If God is with us, then why would we EVER quit?

We’re STILL here. Deal with it!!!
