Negative thoughts can be overwhelming

When I get on stage and share my life with a large group of people, it’s scary. I have a lot of doubts come into my head. I wonder, do they really want to hear what God has poured into my heart? Can I do this? Do they wish it wasn’t me up here? Maybe I shouldn’t do it anymore. Negative thoughts run rampant through my head!

Take the negative message off of REPEAT.

Each of us has been through some kind of struggle in our life, and sometimes there are negative messages that result from those struggles. Those negative messages might play in our heads on repeat mode for YEARS.

David KNEW God had him.

In Psalm 34, David didn’t spend a lot of time talking about the bad in his life.

He KNEW that whatever the trouble, God had him.
…No matter the circumstance, God had him.
…No matter what or who the enemy was God had him.

He declared, “I WILL bless the Lord at all times!”

David focused his energy on God’s goodness.

David TALKED about,
THOUGHT about,
And SANG about the good.
ALL THE TIME!

David kept his focus on God’s goodness. He reminded himself of what God had done for him in times past. He encouraged himself.

He reminded himself of how small his problem was compared to the AWESOMENESS of God!

Do you struggle to remember that GOD is good?

Let’s share ideas to help each other fill up with God and push out the negative messages. I am thankful for and praying for each of you. God is so GOOD!

I feel listening to the Jesus at the Center CD ~ Israel Houghton~ helps me stay centered and more focus on Jesus. I listen in my car all the time so I arrive at work and back home in a much better mood and often find find myself humming or singing this when I am stressed.

Just remembering this one thing….often frames my thinking! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Walking in Faith instead of Fear is HUGE for me. When fear tries to creep in I speak to it with faith words.
