The stock market is down 830 points at 11:24pm cst while I write this.
I’d like to be surprised. But while lots of folks were watching the early election results come in, we had our normal midweek service and you can watch me say to our congregation hours and hours before the stock market got jiggy – WE KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!

You might want to talk about Trump or Clinton, but let’s talk about something a little closer to home – your pocketbook.
We WOULD be freaked out about the stock market. IF we were stock market people. I mean, I have retirement investments in the stock market, but I don’t rely on the world economy to sustain me. It doesn’t affect me.
HOW You ask?
Knowledge is power. We know WHO we are. We know WHOSE we are. And we know what kingdom we’re from. Kingdom? You mean state or country, right. NO. No, I don’t. I mean kingdom.
As Christians, we are members of the Kingdom of God. It’s not a geographical location (that is the kingdom of heaven). The kingdom of God is God’s way of doing things—it’s His system.
We are IN this world, but not OF this world (John 17:16). Like a friend of mine is IN the United States but OF Brazil. Brazilian passport, Brazilian residency, but living in the US.
And speaking of the word IN. We are IN Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and greater is He that is IN me (1 John 4:4). God is IN us. We are IN God. We are IN this world, but we are OF the Kingdom of God.
We get to choose which system we are a part of. Walk by sight and not by faith, and get what the world gets. The economy, the stock market affects you. Walk by faith and not by sight, walk in love, live by the 10/10/80 principle and watch God supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) You have to make up your mind to operate in the Kingdom instead of the World.
