I don’t have time for THIS!
On a Sunday morning. The last thing I want to do is try to stay SAVED! (Lol)
I was watching my kids’ puppy. No big deal. I’m a dog person. I’ve GOT this!
But for fifteen minutes on a Sunday morning, I chased that dog all over the house!
“I don’t have TIME for this!!!”
I was already dressed in my nice clothes, and even heels, crawling underneath the dining room table to catch that dog. (Have you got the picture?)
Finally, I was able to leave the house and got to a green light to turn left. But the “blessed saint” in front of me didn’t know what “green” meant (seriously?) and wouldn’t get out of my way!
“Now, I’m LATE for church!”
(Big temptation to honk and share the opposite of The Gospel. Can I get an amen?!?!?)
I could’ve been happy. BUT, there was that dog and that goofball who couldn’t drive!!!!
We’ve all had those I-could-be-happy-BUT moments.
I could be happy, BUT the kids are acting crazy!
I could be happy, BUT those people really get on my nerves!
I’m here to tell you… your BUT is too BIG! (Did I just say that? Yes, I did!)
Getting out of the situation won’t make us happy. Retail therapy, parties, comfort food… (If you happen to see me with ice cream, don’t ask what kind of day I had.)
None of that will make us happy… in the long run!
There are a hundred reasons we can find to be upset. But, God is asking us to look around and find JUST ONE reason to be happy!
Follow this logic; feelings are fickle. Happiness is not a feeling. It’s a CHOICE!
So choose better than I did.
Is the dog in your life (Your boss? Your problem? Or even your family?) and the dingy driver gonna ruin your day?
Heck NO!
We’re reformatting our thinking because we have SO MUCH to be thankful for!

Everyone who knows me, knows how much I look forward to this time of year. Fall, food, family, food, friends… (Did I mention the food?)
