My side of the bed faces east. Even though there are blinds on the window, there are still cracks on either side that allow the sunrise to stream in and beam me, right in the face! (Hello 6 am!)
If I don’t want the light to come in, (which is EVERY day) I can usually figure out a way to stay in the dark.
- I can crawl under my covers.
- Put a pillow over my head.
- Or… use an eye mask!
Do you think we do that in life, too?
If we don’t WANT the illumination of God in a certain area, we conveniently arrange ways to stay out of the light.
We skip church, skirt conversations, don’t read our Bible, avoid small groups like the plague so nobody finds out about our pet darkness.
We know we need the light. We just don’t want it there, NOW, because it’s uncomfortable. It’s irritating, piercing, and too much of a change!
However, once I get used to the light… I usually want MORE of it! I walk around and open all the curtains and turn on all the lights.
What’s that thing that you’ve been hiding, afraid to let God’s light SHINE on?
I want to encourage you to let me be the CRACK in your blinds, today. Jesus is the way and the truth and the LIGHT!
Allow His light to SHINE in you!

When the sun shine through my window and I can see it; I know this is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. A new day means I have a clean sheet to write my life story before the Lord.
