“Are you kidding me? Girl… nobody’s got time for that!”
But, the struggle was REAL.
When Ashtyn was little, we took her to the boot store to get a pair of new western boots for riding.
She couldn’t decide whether she wanted the PINK ones or the WHITE ones. (Even back then, my baby girl liked to shop.)
She told me, “Look Mom! When I put on one white boot and one pink boot, I don’t slip and I can run FASTER.”
WHAT?
You’re trying to tell me that the color of your boots determine whether or not you slip?!
But, isn’t that just what we do in our lives?
We search for EXCUSES and justifications. We look for an external change when what we need is an internal difference.
- If I change my HOUSE, then…
- If I change my JOB, then…
- If I change my HAIR, then…
God isn’t concerned with our superficial outward changes. He’s more focused on WHO we’re becoming, inside.
That’s why I’m SO proud of the person Ashtyn has become.
We can’t get upset when God calls us out on those problems we’re still working on. He sees where we are, but also, holds out for our true POTENTIAL.
But, REAL transformation requires some perspiration. And right now, our biggest enemy is US!
It’s always a struggle when it’s God’s way and not ours. Our minds have to come into alignment with what He has always wanted for us.
God sees who we CAN be when we’re committed to leveling up.
But everything can’t CHANGE until everything changes!
